Overview

Seltz exposes an OpenAI-compatible POST /v1/chat/completions endpoint. It’s a drop-in replacement providing single-shot, web-grounded retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
This endpoint grounds its answers in news search by default, so it works best for current-events and recent-news questions, such as “Who is going to be Apple’s next CEO?” To ground answers in a different scope, set the scope parameter.
Point an OpenAI SDK at Seltz by swapping the base_url and API key.
  • Base URL: https://api.seltz.ai/v1
To use the endpoint directly, make a POST request to /v1/chat/completions with the same request body as OpenAI’s Chat Completions API.
  • Endpoint: POST https://api.seltz.ai/v1/chat/completions
This endpoint performs single-shot RAG. When messages contains a multi-turn history, retrieval is driven by the last user message only: earlier turns do not influence what is retrieved. There is no conversational memory across calls.

Pricing

Each call bills as one request at the standard flat rate, the same as /search and /answer. See Pricing for details.
